Reading challenge 1: War Through the Generations

The first reading challenge I’m joining in 2009 is the War Through the Generations’ reading challenge on World War II, hosted by Anna from Diary of an Eccentric and Serena from Savvy Verse & Wit. The challenge runs from January 1 to December 31, 2009.

The minimum commitment is five books, although hopefully I’ll read more. So far I’m thinking of reading the following (I reserve the right to add and subtract from this list throughout the year):
I realize there are six books on my list, but I’m not sure I’ll get around to the last one, so my personal challenge is still to read at least five.

What challenges are you joining in 2009?

  2. I'm so glad you're participating!! You'll love Resistance. That's one of my favorite Anita Shreve books.

  6. I'm seeing lots of great books on the lists of the challenge participants. I thought I would pass this one by, but it's calling to me. I'll have to mull it over and decide if I'm joining all of you ...

    enjoy your reading!

  7. Thanks, Serena and Anna, for hosting this challenge (and for encouraging me to join!). I'm really looking forward to reading these books.

I've only heard good things about Resistance, Anna and Jo-Jo, so I'm really hoping I'll love it!

Tara, good for you! I'm tempted to join a couple more challenges in 2009, but I'm restraining myself for now. I'll be sure to read your review of The Pages in Between once I'm done reading it.

Thanks, Dar. We'll have to compare notes!

    Thanks, Dawn. Do join us!

  9. Shana, I'm excited about this one too, especially since I've been meaning to read a couple of these books for a while, so this will hopefully be all the encouragement I need. I'm glad we'll be reading some of the same books!
