Should Be Reading hosts the Teaser Tuesdays weekly event.
My modified rules are as follows:
Grab your current read. Pick two or three “teaser” sentences more or less at random from the book, anywhere on the page. You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your teaser from… that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given! (Please avoid spoilers!) (Read the official Teaser Tuesday rules.)
I’m a bit stalled on Acedia & Me: A Marriage, Monks and A Writer’s Life by Kathleen Norris, but I am reading another book at the moment, so I’ll give you a teaser from it instead...
My teaser:
“His blue eyes still gazed out from the huge staff photograph that hung in the lobby. In the picture we stood side by side, his arm around my shoulder, mine around his waist. Every now and then, when I stayed late at the office after everyone else had left, I’d find myself standing in front of the photograph, staring, trying to figure out what exactly had gone wrong” (p. 104).*This is from No One You Know by Michelle Richmond.

Now that sounds kind of sad...I wonder what did go wrong?

ReplyDeleteGood teaser. I'll be watching for your review of this one as I've wanted to read it but really haven't heard much about it.
