Similar Covers: Girl in Field

Here’s another duo trio of exact lookalikes: Before We Say Goodbye by Louise Candlish and You by Nuala Ní Chonchúir. It’s interesting how much the mood of the cover changes just by changing the background colours!

Before We Say Goodbye was published by Sphere, an imprint of Little, Brown Book Group (UK) in August 2009. You just came out with New Island Books in Ireland in April 2010.

Edited to add:

I found a third cover, Honderd jaar, which is the Dutch translation of Hundre år by Norwegian writer, Herbjørg Wassmo (the title means “hundred years”). This translation was published in September 2010.

  1. The background color does change the mood - I prefer the cover of Before We Say Goodbye.

  2. Me too, Kathy, although I'm not fond of the pink text for the author's name...

  7. I kind of like the cloudy cover more. The girl on the sunny day cover looks ghostly. It would be interesting if this was the same book...

  9. Hi there, I'm the author of YOU. The image is from Trevillion Images, according to the back of my book, so I guess they are just available to use to whoever wants to use them (pay to use them, I suppose?). It's kind of weird for me to see that other book though!
The girl suits my book - she lives beside a river and is sensitivie and melancholic, so the image really works. I am now v curious about L.C.'s storyline!

  11. P.S. Is your name Avis? Wow. That's my mum's name. I've never met another one. She was named she thinks after a ex-girlfriend of one of her brothers. She was 8th in the family and maybe they were running out of names.
