I actually only received one book in the mail this week, Stitch ’n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook by Debbie Stoller, which I ordered online because I’ve just recently started knitting again (something I haven’t done since I was about 10). If any of you are knitters too, please look me up on Ravelry! (The link will take you to my profile.)
Yesterday I also got together with my blogging buddies, Cindy of Cindy’s Love of Books, Donna of BookBound, Linda of Better with Books and Tina of Bookshipper. This was an exciting meeting, as we discussed our May trip to New York City (to go to BEA, of course!). We also exchanged books, as usual, and I grabbed a bunch of YA titles (and one mystery): I Now Pronounce You Someone Else by Erin McCahan, The Complete Story of Why I Hate Her by Jennifer Richard Jacobson and What I Saw and How I Lied by Judy Blundell from Tina; Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver from Cindy; and Blood from a Stone by Donna Leon from Donna.
What did you find in your mailbox this past week? For other Mailbox Monday posts, head over to Marcia’s blog, The Printed Page.
It was a great meet up Avis.
ReplyDeleteI love how you link your books to a site. I think I might have to work on doing that.
Enjoy the goodies you got.
Your meet-ups sound like so much fun! Are all you going to make it to NY? It looks like you scored some good books!
ReplyDeleteI seriously want all of the books you listed!!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a terrific book week; enjoy
ReplyDeleteGreat books! I really want to read before I fall. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I make a point of linking book titles to LibraryThing book pages and authors to their websites (if they have one; if not, I link to Wikipedia, if possible). I've already read one of the books that Tina gave me!
ReplyDeleteKathy, I will be there and I definitely want to meet you!
Thanks, Staci, Diane and Jennifer!
Serena and I will be at BEA. Hope we get a chance to meet!
ReplyDeleteI've friended you on Ravelry. I don't knit all that much these days, so I'm not on there a lot, but it's a great site. I need some motivation to pick up the needles again!

I hope to meet both of you as well, Anna! Thanks for friending me on Ravelry. You've made some great things! (I'm totally bummed that I may not be able to bring my needles on the train to New York!)
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing the term "stitch n bitch" more and more lately, in various contexts.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time! I can't wait to meet all of you at BEA and Blogger Con. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs far as used graphic novels, I really don't know used books in NY at all. :-(
