Mailbox Monday (March 23)

This was a much better week for scoring books that the past three! First off, I received Places I Never Meant to Be: Original Stories by Censored Writers edited by Judy Blume, which I won from Aerin at In Search of Giants. Then I got together with my local blogger group yesterday (Cindy of Cindy’s Love of Books, Donna of BookBound and Tina of Bookshipper) and received the following books:

The Next Big Thing by Johanna Edwards
Letters Between Us by Linda Rader Overman
Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald
No Great Mischief by Alister MacLeod
The Boys in the Trees by Mary Swan

What did you find in your mailbox this past week? For other Mailbox Monday posts, head over to Marcia’s blog, The Printed Page.

  1. Looks like a great bunch of books. Happy Reading!

  2. You did have a good week. I love the cover of The Boys in the Trees.

  3. Nice list. How great to have a group to meet up with and exchange books!

  4. Looks like you made up for last week!

    Enjoy your books.

    My mailbox is Here

  5. Nice, you had a good week. I just got If I Stay by Gayle Forman in the mail today, actually, and I'm so stoked.

  6. I love the cover of The Boys in the Trees. Perhaps I am coming out of my dark cover infatuation??

  7. Great list of books Avis. Can't wait to hear what you think of the Next Big Thing. See you soon.

  8. Lots of pretty covers. I am so jealous that you have a local blogger group!

  9. Wow - how often do you meet with your local blogger group? That sounds like a lot of fun, and a great way to trade books!!

    Here's my Mailbox! ~ Wendi

  10. Enjoy your books, Avis!

I'll be asking you how you enjoyed The Next Big Thing after you read it...Cindy was telling me about it on our way home from the meet up and it sounds like fun.

  11. Like the look of the Judy Blume

  12. Hey Avis,

I've given you the Friend award here:

  13. Hey Avis,

You're not really going to read _Fall on your knees_ are you? Far be it from me to disrecommend a book, but this would be one of them.

  14. Like Bermudaonion, I like the cover of *The Boys in the Trees* ... enjoy them all!

  15. Thanks, Serena!

Kathy, that's definitely my favourite cover of the bunch!

    Mary, yeah, I'm pretty lucky!

    I did, didn't I, Kaye!

Lauren, I've been seeing good reviews of that book, I hope you enjoy it!

Ti, maybe! I love that cover too.

    Thanks again, Cindy!

Nicole, we found each other through LibraryThing... Maybe there are LTer bloggers in your neck of the woods too?

Once a month, Wendi. And it is lots of fun! (Plus I always wind up bringing home more books than I'm getting rid of...)

Myckyee, you can certainly have it once I'm done. Not sure I'm going to read Fall Down on Your Knees in the end...

Jen, yeah, I didn't know about this book until I won it from Aerin. It sounds really interesting!

Thank you so much, Sheri! I will post about it soon!

Brogan, I had forgotten that you disrecommended this book too! I'm thinking not, now...

    Thanks, Dawn!

  16. You did make out this past week! I came home from work today and found quite a few books waiting for me--it was a pleasant surprise.

I really enjoyed The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald and have been wanting to read Fall on Your Knees. I look forward to reading what you think of it when you get to it.

  17. Wendy, it's always fun to get books in the mail, isn't it! I'm not sure I'm going to read Fall on Your Knees in the end. Maybe I should start with As the Crow Flies instead...

  18. Thank you for stopping by the mailbox this week. I've read 'The Next Big Thing' by Johanna Edwards. I seem to remember enjoying it. I love the cover of 'Letters Between Us'.

  19. i won 'the one true theory of love' from lisamm over at books on the brain, scored a much-anticipated (for me) advanced copy of 'perfect fifths' by megan mccafferty and, oh, yes...a HOT off the press advanced copy of 'pretty in plaid' by jen lancaster. i can tell you that no laundry will get done around her this weekend. :)

  20. As you can tell, I'm still behind in blog reading. Ah, well. Anyway, looks like you had a great week. Hope you enjoy them all!

  21. Marcia, in the end I gobbled up The Next Big Thing all in one sitting!

Natalie, I hope you enjoy your books! (I already know Jen Lancaster's book made you cry with laughter!)

Anna, as you can tell I'm still behind in replying to comments! Thanks for stopping by.
