Lookalikes of Lookalikes 2

Remember how a couple of weeks ago I posted about lookalikes of lookalikes and one of the books I featured was Something Borrowed by Martina Reilly? Well, I’ve found a copycat cover of that book on my own shelves: The Professors’ Wives’ Club by Joanne Rendell. Although the arms are different, it’s definitely the same dress and shoes!

I also found another similar cover: Mouthing the Words by Camilla Gibb.

Note that I’ve updated last week’s Blue Butterfly Covers post.

Edited to add: Check out my UPDATE comment for more info on the first two covers mentioned here.

  1. It's so funny to see covers with the same (or similar) covers.

  2. I wonder how many covers she posed for that day!

  3. Maybe whoever does the cover photos doesn't have a lot of time/ creativity? They must sign contracts for x number of covers? Is there any way to find out if they are actually in any way connected?

  4. This is one of my favorite features on your blog Avis. The first two are very similiar. Thanks for sharing them.

  5. I agree with Kathy, she must have been posing for a few covers that day since that's the exact same girl in those two. lol.

  7. UPDATE

Prompted by Brogan's questions, I checked out the cover photo credits for The Professors' Wives' Club. The cover is actually made up of four photos (flowers, grass & tree, women and bench)! The credit for the photo of the women is "Fancy Photography/Veer," so I googled that and found the original photos used on the covers of Something Borrowed and The Professors' Wives' Club, which are both part of a "Hanging with the Girls" series of photos.

The photo used for Something Borrowed is HERE.

These aren't photos that were produced for the covers specifically; they are royalty-free images, which means anyone could be buying them and using them multiple times for whatever purposes they wanted.

  8. Priya, thanks for checking out my blog!

Kathy, see my update comment for an answer to that question!

Brogan, thanks for prompting me to look into this a bit more (see update comment for the results of my research).

Thank you, Cindy! I'm glad you're enjoying this feature.

Dar, see my update comment too! I've confirmed that they are definitely two pictures of the same woman!

Thanks, Jenners! I love finding similar covers, so I'm glad to hear others are interested in hearing about them!

  10. You are absolutely right. That is the same pic! They could at least do something a little different to mix it up a bit.

  11. I really think that's the same picture! It looks like same couch too.

  13. Thanks, Lenore and Anna!

Ti, they are actually two different pics from the same set of photos, but you're right, it amounts to the same thing.

Ladytink, they actually replaced the couch with a bench in the second cover (since it's supposed to be an outdoor shot), but it's hard to see the difference unless you have the book in front of you.

    They definitely are, Serena!
