I should have kept track of how many books I bought in 2008! Now that might be a bit of a scary number when compared to how many I read...

*The books by multiple authors are either all male or all female.
†According to Google Analytics, which I only set up on August 25.
‡I only started posted reviews regularly in August and didn’t post any in December.

  3. You sure do read a LOT of female authors. You're the first blogger I've seen so far who has such a large female to male ratio! I like it!

As for your idea of keeping track of how many books I buy.... Oh goodness! A whole nother demon indeed! I worry that the number of books I buy may exceed the number of books I read!

  5. I think it might be a good idea to keep track of how many books I buy too -- it would be an interesting study at least! Also to keep track of how many books I mooch from Book Mooch and buy at library sales or used bookstores.

  6. I did keep track of the books I bought and received as gifts or for review last year, but I was too embarrassed to post the totals. LOL

  7. Yay, reading stats. Looks like you had a great year. It's funny I also read a lot more women authors although this year I seem to be about even so far.

  8. I love reading other bloggers' stats. I also read female authors more than twice as much as male authors in 2008. Which is a first for me, for sure.

  9. Thank you so much, Jo-Jo! I haven't forgotten about this award, I just haven't had time to figure out who to pass it on to next.

    Thanks, Marie!

Saveophelia, Bonnie and Dorothy, I think I will keep track of how many books I acquire (one way or another) in 2009. I reserve the right not to make that stat public though!

Literary Feline, I have a feeling I might feel the same way next year, when I post my next lot of statistics!

Iliana and Lenore, I've actually gotten "better" at reading books written by men; for a while there I was pretty much reading only women (especially when it came to fiction).

  10. Ohh!! So I was thinking, 62 books, that's not bad, I calculated I read almost 50 books in '08...no wait, I actually read one every TWO weeks, so that's something like 25 books in '08....waaah! i'm jealous!
