Read this review and listen to this interview: The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry

I’ve been meaning to draw your attention to Katrina’s fantastic review at Stone SouP of The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry ever since I read it over a month ago. I love her review because it’s such a detailed account of her reaction to the book but doesn’t contain a single spoiler. Plus there’s added info about the author, which is always fun to read. This is the type of review I aspire to writing! Visit Katrina’s blog to read her review.

If you’ve read the book and ONLY if you’ve read the book, you might also be interested in listening to a phone interview with Brunonia Barry . Apparently, The Lace Reader is being made into a movie (set to be released in 2010). Thanks to Dawn at She Is Too Fond of Books for mentioning this interview on her blog.

Check out my review of The Lace Reader.

  1. I actually won this book from Katrina, but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

  2. I read it when it first went up. I was hoping to win a copy but I see 'the onion' got it instead.:) I do want to read it and it was a great review. It's difficult to say much without giving key elements of the story away. I like to know nothing of what's going to happen in a story before I read it myself. Good for 'the hat lady' for pulling it off. And good for you for drawing attention to a well done review.

  4. Ah, thanks! That's so sweet.

I did love this book. And I hate spoilers, so I try very hard not to include any (sometimes they slip through).

Sandra: this is a Choose Your Book week, so here's your chance. :-)

  5. Kathy, I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, Sandra. I agree with you completely with respect to not wanting to know anything about a story's plot before reading a novel. I often skip over plot synopsis in novels. I loved Katrina's review for that reason!

You're welcome, Jenclair! Glad to hear you loved The Lace Reader too!

Katrina, you're very welcome! As you know I'd been meaning to mention your review for quite a while, so when I heard about this interview I knew it was now or never! (Or at least that the timing was perfect!)
