Before this week, the only book I had received in August was
Aberrations by
Penelope Przekop, my first book from
Mini Book Expo for Bloggers (review coming this week!). I neglected to mention it before because I was on vacation at the time. Since then, nothing until this week when I hit the jackpot! On Wednesday, I received
The Grift by
Debra Ginsberg (courtesy of
Random House), as well as
When One Man Dies by Dave White (from the
Read It Forward program) and
Acedia & Me: A Marriage, Monks, and a Writer’s Life by Kathleen Norris (courtesy of the
Penguin Group USA). On Friday, three more came:
The Nettle Spinner by
Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer (my second from
Mini Book Expo), as well as
The Corpse Will Keep by Pat Capponi and
Mudbound by
Hillary Jordan (both from
Harper Collins Canada). To top things off, today I received
Midwife of the Blue Ridge directly from the author,
Christine Blevins!
So many new books to read! I’m especially excited about Kathleen Norris’ book as she is one of my favourite writers and
Mudbound as it was the winner of a
Bellwether Prize (I’m curious to see what “socially responsible literature” sounds like), but all these books sound good!
Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at
The Printed Page.
All the books in my stack this week sound soooooo good too - I have the delightful problem of which one to read first. =)
