Although Canada Post workers have now been legislated back to work, we won’t start receiving any mail until tomorrow, so none of these books came to me in the mail. I bought a few (lured into Indigo by a 4-for-3 sale); the rest I took home after meeting up with the usual Montreal book blogger gang (Cindy, Donna, Linda and Tina; Amanda unfortunately couldn’t make it).
Here’s my loot for this week:
Tina (Bookshipper) gave me the following books:

I went and looked up Pretend You Love Me because that's one by Peters I hadn't heard of before, though apparently it also goes by the name Far from Xanadu? I *have* heard of that one. I like this new-to-me name better. :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any on your list but they all sound like good books. Hope your mail arrives regularly from here on out!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Amanda, according to Peters' site, Pretend You Love Me is a reissue of Far from Xanadu.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary, I hope so too! (I'm especially worried about a giveaway win, which hopefully didn't get sent back to the publisher.)
I have been wanting to read Shattered Dreams. I am glad to hear the mail will be going through again. I can only imagine how much mail has piled up and needs to be delivered. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a great mailbox from your book buddies and Indigo. I laughed when i heard you'd taken 11 to give away only to return with 11 more ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, those look really good. Several that I've had on my radar. Glad to hear your mail may soon be flowing again! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all of your new reads. I just read about Long Gone on another blog and the review made the book sound very intriguing. Hope you enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at the covers!! You did a good job of giving away 11 books..I think you have some great ones there for sure!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, but the covers and titles have my interest.....enjoy
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of great books! I saw that sale at Indigo...and I managed to stay away! Julie Ann Peters is one author I'd like to try. Happy reading! Come on Canada post, bring on those heavy packages!
ReplyDeleteI see a postal strike can't stop you from getting more books!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be reading Blackout for the readalong in July.
Blackout is on my to-read list. Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteHeya, I notice you're reading a whole slew of books about polygamy, so can I ask you a favour? One night here at the library there was a book on hold for someone, on the jacket it said "when I was born, I was my mother's aunt" or something like that, some weird twist of family lines that neither I nor my coworker could figure out. Then the book went out & we never saw it again. I think the book must have been an inter-library loan, so that's why I never saw it again, but the puzzle has been nagging at me and since I don't remember what the bookjacket said, I can't figure it out...so if you ever see something like that on a bookjacket for one of these books, can you let me know what it says? Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the postal strike is finally over! You got some great books! I haven't heard of some of them - I'm going to check them out!
