It’s becoming pretty clear that I’m not going to finish all the things on my miles-long to-do list before I leave in a week to go to BEA and Book Blogger Con, but I’m trying not to panic (especially since many of them are work-related). I’m also still in the process of figuring out all the things I want to do and see while I’m in New York City (not to mention what I should wear!). So far, my BEA/BBC schedule is as follows:
Monday:Tuesday:
- The Strand + touristy things + dinner with Montreal book bloggers
- 9:30-10:30 AM: Brunonia Barry signing The Map of True Places (Table 13)
- 10-11 AM: Justin Cronin signing The Passage (Table 8)
- 12-12:45 PM: Maria V. Snyder signing Inside Out (Booth 3922)
- 4-5 PM: Emma Donoghue signing Room (Booth 3750)
- 7-9 PM: A Celebration of Book Bloggers – Harper Collins (Algonquin Hotel)
- 9:30-10:30 AM: Kathleen Kent signing The Wolves of Andover (Table 26)
- 10:30-11:30 AM: Delia Sherman signing Interfictions 2 (Table 1)

- 12-2 PM: Author Lunch hosted by Patton Oswalt

Finally, I will be posting my review of Getting a Grip 2: Clarity, Creativity and Courage for the World We Really Want by Frances Moore Lappé tomorrow, along with a guest post by the author and giveaway later this week, so be sure to come back for that!
Hey! I hope to get to see you when we're there! :)
ReplyDeleteSome of those are on my list as well - like the Kathleen Kent signing, the blogger con, and also The Strand! I'm planning a trip for Tuesday evening after dinner. I look forward to meeting you in person!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was attending but I will probably try to participate in the arm chair event. Looks like you have a full schedule planned! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time - and thanks for the shout-out to Armchair BEA! The more the merrier :-).
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to avoid to-do list panic, myself. I can't wait to be at BEA, but I feel like I've got about 4600 more things to take care of before I can get there! Looks like you've got yourself pretty well booked! I know I've got my Wednesday booked almost solid, but I'm trying to be a little less scheduled on Thursday. I'm debating about going to the Justin Cronin signing after hearing so much good buzz about The Passage, but I'm afraid I might need to clone myself to do all the things I'd like to do on Wednesday morning. I'm definitely planning to go to the Celebration of Book Bloggers, too.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you there! =)
I'm planning on having dinner with the "Montreal bloggers" on Thursday night.
ReplyDeleteAvis, you're more organized than I am! I'm still need to put together a to-do list, I'll probably feel better about it when I do.
ReplyDeleteWow, at least you have a list and you know which events you really want to attend. I still need to decide which events I really want to attend. I didn't know about Armchair BEA. =)
ReplyDeleteAvis hands down you a more organized then me right now LOL I will have to hustle my butt and get some sort of list down.
ReplyDeleteWish there was an Armchair BEA last year LOL
Well from your list I think the only time we will see each other is Mon and Sat on the train and then Tues and Thurs for supper oh and Tue morning. :)
Avis, I guess we will see on you on the train going and coming back - yikes! its crazy all the stuff you are planning to do. Mine is way easier....The Strand, the Strand, the Strand, yoga, OA meetings, The Strand, Statue of Liberty and the Ayuverda Cafe. I don't plan on doing anything at BEA except visit exhibitors and meet some of the publicists I deal with :0 oh! and The Strand of course !
ReplyDeleteHave fun at BEA! And thanks for the link to Armchair BEA, I'm happy to see this since I'm not able to attend.
