You can do one of two things or both!
Grab a camera and take a photo of your desk! Or anywhere you stack your books/TBR pile. And no tidying! Add this photo to your blog.Tag at least 5 people! Come back here and leave a link back to your photo in the Mr. Linky.
List at least 5 BOOKISH things on your desk (your TBR pile or books you haven’t shelved.) List at least 5 NON-BOOKISH things (some of some of the more unusual items on your desk/table). Tag at least 5 people to do the same. Come back here and leave your link, so we can come and visit your blog. Or add your answers in the comments if you don’t have a blog.
Given the state of my desk, I wasn’t about to take a photo of the whole thing, just a choice pile (and the cat)! So here are my answers...
First, the bookish things include:
- Stack of books awaiting review (see pics below)
- The Night Watch by Sarah Waters (up next, maybe)
- Canadian Oxford Dictionary (used for Wondrous Words Wednesday post)
- Old issue of Shambhala Sun
- Incomplete drafts of several reviews
Side view of pile (click on photo to enlarge)
Non-bookish things include:
- Wallet (I just bought my ticket to fly to Halifax next month!)
- Roll of toilet paper (we don’t buy tissues)
- Mug warmer (super practical in the winter; not so useful now)
- Guinness pint glass (last used for juice; I don’t drink beer!)
- Cairo cat (briefly, as pictured below)
Finally, I tag the following folks (if you feel inclined to participate):
- Cindy at Cindy’s Love of Books
- Donna at BookBound
- Linda at Better with Books
- Lucy at Enchanted by Josephine
- Tina at Bookshipper
I think my favourite picture is the one with Cairo. =)
ReplyDeleteI was tagged before and, err...
my desk hasn't really changed, aside from a couple of items here and there.

Tell you what, I'll let my desk do some morphing and evolving, and then I'll post up some photos for this meme. =)
Thanks for tagging me! =)
Hi Avis: Thanks for the tag - I did not know that you read Shambhala Sun. If you ever want to part with your old copies, let me know. I like reading that mag.
ReplyDeleteOf course I had to click on those stacks of books to get a better view! I saw some good ones in there. Thanks for mentioning WWW!
ReplyDeleteMy cat sits on my Pc too. He just loves to stand on the keys as I attempt to type.
ReplyDeleteOh, how cute, Avis!
ReplyDeleteCairo! What a lovely name and such a beautiful one, too.
Do my eyes deceive me - "Bottomfeeder"? The mind boggles!!
Thanks for taking the time to do this, I hope you had fun.
haha! Juat spotted Linda's comment - about her desk morphing and evolving --- that is a story in itself, I think!
Take care, and thanks again - may I add your pics to my flicr photos for this meme, please?
Sassy

A beautiful cat, I meant-- ooh er!
ReplyDeleteSassy
:)
Very cute cat. BTW..that picture on my blog today was not my cat, but the claws and pose was so darn cute, i had to feature it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda Ellen. Silly me, I should have checked whether you'd done this meme before. I like the idea of a morphing and evolving desk -- mine does that too.
ReplyDeleteTina, I got a really cheap two-year subscription (which recently ran out) and I must admit I still haven't read them all. Many of them are still in boxes (we moved a year ago), but I'd be happy to pass some of them on to you as soon as I find them!
Kathy, did you happen to notice all the little bits of paper sticking out of the books in that pile? Those are almost all for my WWW posts!
Scrap girl, Cairo also sometimes sticks her face under my fingers as I try to type...
Sassy Brit, this meme was fun! Bottomfeeder is a book about seafood. Oh and sure, go ahead and put my pics on Flickr.
Thanks, Diane. She can be a little pest sometimes, but she's also the most cuddly cat I've ever met. Thanks for answering my question about your photo!
lol-Cairo looks adorable. Buddy likes to lay right in front of my laptop on the table. Of course it's my fault. I bring him up there.
ReplyDeleteThe cat is definitely my favorite desk accessory.
ReplyDeleteDar and Bookfool, I confess I coaxed Cairo into posing for this picture, although she does perch on my desk of her own volition too. I got lots of closeups of her whiskery face peering into the camera and blurry shots of her jumping off the desk before I managed to snap this shot!
