Mostly pink animal slippers

When I started collecting covers with (pink) animal slippers on them, the first three I found were Good Grief by Lolly Winston, Strange Bedpersons by Jennifer Crusie and Dreaming in Black and White by Laura Jensen Walker. But then I noticed that the cover for Invitation to the Waltz by Rosamond Lehmann looked very familiar: I think it’s the same image as the one used for Good Grief with the dress colour and the slippers changed! What do you think?

I also had to include An Off Year by Claire Zulkey because even though the slippers aren’t pink, the cover sure is. Plus those bunnies are really cute! Have you come across any other covers featuring animal slippers?

  1. I have never noticed covers with animal slippers before. There are so many. I am starting to think that maybe I don't pay that much attention to covers. I like the cover for the Black & White cover.

  2. how about this one lol!

  3. All of those covers are cute make the books look appealing to me.

  4. I think I have Good Grief.

For some reason I do not like the cover of 'An Off Year' at all. Is it me or does the print vaguely resemble print from the cover of Playboy magazine? Yeah, ok, I'm sure it's just me!

  5. Amazing! Each time you write a covers post I wonder how and where you find all these similar covers??

  6. This I like. The covers have a similar theme but no two covers clearly look the same (though I agree that "Good Grief" and "Invitation to the Waltz" are probably the same picture, tweaked).

  7. I think the two covers do look very similar - maybe not the exact same picture but similar poses.

I never have noticed covers have similar things such as animal slippers before! You have really made me stop and take notice of book covers! :)

  8. Too cute! You are so skilled at finding these covers!

  9. The only one I've seen was Good Grief because I read it. Love these covers!

  10. Don't the Lehmann pic & the Winston pic look like they are the same? They just photoshopped the bunny ears off!

  11. That is so cute! They look so fun. I'll keep an eye out for them from here on out.

  12. This is the first one of these posts where I've read one of the books! I love Lolly Winston and Good Grief was just a fantastic book! I just wish she would write more!

  13. Nicole, I don't think I paid that much attention to book covers either before I became fascinated by lookalikes.

Those are pink slippers alright, Alea (though not animal slippers)! Thanks for pointing them out.

Kathy, they are pretty cute! I think my favourite is the cover for Good Grief, even though it's a bit pastelly for my taste.

Hmm, Donna, is it the bunnies that are inspiring that association?

Margaret (BooksPlease), I spend too much time online!

Anonymous Child, I know what you mean. It's not so bad when the images used are not exactly the same.

Cindy, there are lots of similar covers out there, once you start looking!

Tara, it has become one of my favourite things to post about!

Dar, did you enjoy it too?

Iliana, that's exactly what I thought too!

imbookingit, thanks! Let me know if you spot any others.

Jenners, good to know! Carrie at Books and Movies also highly recommended this book, so it's now on my wish list!
