As I mentioned yesterday, Hachette has generously offered to send a copy of The Heretic’s Daughter by Kathleen Kent to one of my readers. The giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only (no P.O. boxes). I will accept entries until 11:59 PM Eastern Time on Friday, November 7.
For one entry, post a comment here telling me why you’d like to read this book. Please be sure to provide me with a way of getting in touch with you. Entries without a blog link or email address will be eliminated.
For a second entry, post a comment on my review (if you haven’t already done so).
For a third entry, spread the word about this giveaway by blogging about it (link to this post and leave the URL of your blog post in the comments here) or by emailing five friends with the link to this post (copy me on the email at shereadsandreads[at]gmail[dot]com).
Best of luck!

I keep hearing about this book and our crummy library doesn't have it yet!!! I really want to see why everyone keeps talking about it. I have entered lots of giveaways of this book. I hope to win it this time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fantastic read, and I would love to enter the giveaway. I will post your contest on my sidebar feature.
ReplyDeleteI found the subject matter fascinating. I wonder how easily something like this could happen these days in a different manner. I bet it does!!! I imagine that some of the characters can't be heard at all because they will also be judged. I imagine many things haven't changed at all where personal views on religion, politics, education, medicine, etc are concerned.

I would love to get this book, I've heard so many great things about it.

Why I want to read this: I've been fascinated by the Salem witch trials since high school. (Did you know there was--and maybe still is--a theory that the insanity stemmed from bad barley?) I highly doubt my library will be getting this one, as it seems primarily a book of US interest, and I live in British Columbia...
ReplyDeletePlease enter me! I'm very interested in this one. I find the Salem witch trials fascinating, and it sounds like this book handles the historical setting very well.
ReplyDeleteI've blogged about it here: http://hollybooknotes.blogspot.com/2008/10/another-giveaway.html
Thank you!

I'd like to read this because I had the chance to visit Salem, Mass a couple of years ago. I also read a book by either Robin Cook or Michael Crichton who theorized that the problem was some kind of herb/seed/weed (the name escapes me at the moment) that caused hallucinations.

I believe we were taught very little truth about the "Salem Witch Trials!" Probably, on purpose. This book that deals with the mother and daughter, Martha and Sarah Carrier, sounds quite intriguing. Please enter me in your drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
