Giveaway of The Heretic’s Daughter by Kathleen Kent


As I mentioned yesterday, Hachette has generously offered to send a copy of The Heretic’s Daughter by Kathleen Kent to one of my readers. The giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only (no P.O. boxes). I will accept entries until 11:59 PM Eastern Time on Friday, November 7.

For one entry, post a comment here telling me why you’d like to read this book. Please be sure to provide me with a way of getting in touch with you. Entries without a blog link or email address will be eliminated.

For a second entry, post a comment on my review (if you haven’t already done so).

    I found the subject matter fascinating. I wonder how easily something like this could happen these days in a different manner. I bet it does!!! I imagine that some of the characters can't be heard at all because they will also be judged. I imagine many things haven't changed at all where personal views on religion, politics, education, medicine, etc are concerned.

    Why I want to read this: I've been fascinated by the Salem witch trials since high school. (Did you know there was--and maybe still is--a theory that the insanity stemmed from bad barley?) I highly doubt my library will be getting this one, as it seems primarily a book of US interest, and I live in British Columbia...

    I'd like to read this because I had the chance to visit Salem, Mass a couple of years ago. I also read a book by either Robin Cook or Michael Crichton who theorized that the problem was some kind of herb/seed/weed (the name escapes me at the moment) that caused hallucinations.

    I went to Cambridge this summer and really wanted to go to Salem but didn't have time...I'd love to read this book so that I can enjoy the trip more when I do go (plus I've heard lots of great things about it)
